Maintenance Release 2026.07

As with all maintenance releases, TherapyNotes^® 2026.07 includes numerous system-wide improvements, including bug fixes, performance enhancements, and usability adjustments. This release also includes additional features that will be announced and enabled next week. Here are some noteworthy updates available now.

Smoother ERA Posting for Out-of-Network Claims

We’ve improved ERA posting for primary out-of-network (OON) claims when a claim is set for patient reimbursement, but the payer sends payment directly to the practice instead. This enhancement applies to primary claims only and does not apply to secondary claims.

When TherapyNotes detects this scenario, you’ll now see an inline warning explaining that posting the ERA will update the claim assignment and recalculate balances.

After you post the ERA, TherapyNotes will automatically:

• Update the date of service assignment to “Practice Collects from Insurance”

• Update the coverage amount based on the payment received from the payer

• Apply the payer payment to the date of service

• Convert any portion of a patient payment that is now covered by insurance into an unassigned patient credit

• Leave any remaining unpaid balance as patient responsibility

These updates help reduce manual billing adjustments while keeping payer payments, patient balances, and credits accurate.

Expanded Portal Sharing Access for Clinical Administrators

We’ve expanded Library permissions to give Clinical Administrators more flexibility when managing content shared through TherapyPortal™. 

Clinical Administrators can now update the “Sharing on the Portal” setting for Outcome Measures, bringing these permissions in line with the access they already have for custom Portal Forms. This creates a more consistent Library experience and makes it easier for Clinical Administrators to manage which resources are available to patients without requiring assistance from a Practice Administrator.

Coming soon, Clinical Administrators will also be able to manage the Sharing on Portal setting and form contents for applicable Library Files and built-in Portal Forms.
