Maintenance Release 2026.06

By TherapyNotes, LLC on July 22, 2026

As with all maintenance releases, TherapyNotes® 2026.06 includes numerous system-wide improvements, including bug fixes, performance enhancements, and usability adjustments. This release also includes additional features that will be announced and enabled next week. Here are some noteworthy updates available now.

Clinical Administrators Can Create Practice-Wide Scheduled Events

We've expanded scheduling permissions to allow Clinical Administrators to create Practice-Wide Scheduled Events. Previously, Clinical Administrators could modify, cancel, and delete these events but were unable to create new ones. With this update, Clinical Administrators can independently schedule practice-wide events such as staff meetings, office closures, trainings, and other shared events without needing assistance from another user.

Improved Practice-Wide Document Request Queue

We've updated the practice-wide Document Requests page to help your team focus on items that require action. Documents and forms with a Needs Processing status that your user role isn’t permitted to process will no longer appear in the practice-wide queue. These documents remain available from the patient's Documents and Portal tabs whenever they need to be reviewed. By removing items you can't act on, the queue is easier to navigate and helps your team quickly identify documents that need attention.

Claim Support for Administrative Sex of “Unknown”

We've updated claim validation to better support patients whose Administrative Sex is recorded as Unknown. Previously, claims could not be submitted in these cases. With this update, claims can now be submitted, but a warning will alert you that the value may not match the payer's records and the claim could be rejected.

Before submitting a claim, verify that the patient's Administrative Sex matches the information on file with the payer. If you're unsure of the payer's requirements or the patient's recorded Administrative Sex, confirm the information before submission to help avoid claim delays or rejections. Claims with no Administrative Sex recorded will continue to be blocked until the required information is entered. This enhancement gives practices more flexibility when submitting claims, while continuing to highlight information that may require additional verification before submission to avoid unnecessary delays.

This functionality will be gradually enabled for practices over the next week.
