This release brings updates designed to improve practice visibility, support accurate documentation, and help you stay aligned with compliance requirements. Here’s what’s new in TherapyNotes®.
Managing your TherapySearch Practice Profile is now simpler with improved visibility on the TherapyNotes Staff page. You’ll now see a TherapySearch Practice Profile link displayed above the Staff list, with individual clinician profile links continuing to appear next to their associated clinicians. Practice Admins can use this link to create, edit, and manage a Practice Profile directly from the Staff page, while other staff members can use it to view the published listing. To keep ownership clear, the Practice Admin who created the profile is marked with a yellow star and is the only user who can currently edit the Practice Profile.
If your practice hasn’t created a TherapySearch Practice Profile yet, get started today! A complete Practice Profile helps your practice stand out in TherapySearch by highlighting your services, specialties, and approach to care, making it easier for potential clients and referral partners to find and connect with you. We’re continuing to expand and refine the enhanced medication documentation experience first introduced during our phased rollout in October. As part of this next phase, clinicians who use TherapyNotes ePrescribe (powered by DrFirst) will now see a new Edit Meds Manually option when documenting Psychiatry Intakes, Psychiatry Treatment Plans, and Psychiatry Progress Notes. This option allows clinicians to manually update medication details in a note when DrFirst data is unavailable or does not match what was prescribed. Manual editing is intended for these exception cases only and is not designed to replace the standard DrFirst automated workflow.

In addition to the new manual edit option, we’ve made several refinements to the medication documentation experience since the initial rollout to some practices:
All medications now display Start, Adjusted, and Stop dates when available for both eRx and non-eRx workflows, making it easier to understand changes over time.
If a clinician opens the eRx tab from a note and then returns to the note, an informational banner will appear reminding them to refresh eRx if changes were made to ensure documentation stays in sync.
Prescribers using TherapyNotes ePrescribe with DrFirst can now remove medications from notes when necessary. This must be done before applying any manual edits.
Non–eRx clinicians can now choose from a dropdown of common reasons when adjusting, correcting or stopping medications, while still having the option to enter a custom reason when needed.
This functionality is rolling out to additional practices and will be available to all practices by the end of next week, so keep an eye on your notes to see when it becomes available for your practice.
We’ve updated the default Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) language to reflect recent federal guidance from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Existing practices have two options for applying this update:
Reset your NPP to the updated default language: Select Set to Default to replace your current NPP with the updated language. After resetting, you’ll need to review and re-edit the form to add any practice-specific details.
Update your existing NPP: If you’d like to keep your current, practice-specific NPP intact, you can manually add the new HHS language to your existing form. The updated language is available in our Notice of Privacy Practices update blog for easy reference.
