Maintenance Release 2025.09

By TherapyNotes, LLC on November 13, 2025

As with all maintenance releases, TherapyNotes® 2025.09 includes numerous system-wide improvements, including bug fixes, performance enhancements, and usability adjustments. This release also includes exciting new features that will be announced and enabled over the next few weeks. In the meantime, here are some noteworthy updates available now.

Treatment Plan Improvements

We’ve made a few updates to the Psychotherapy Treatment Plan to make it easier to create clear, organized documentation that effectively supports client goals.

  • Each Goal is now labeled as a Treatment Goal, and the former Treatment Goal field has been renamed Goal Description for improved organization and clarity.
  • New 5-week, 6-week, and 7-week options are now available for Estimated Completion on Objectives and Interventions, providing additional flexibility when setting timelines.

Patient Preferred Name in To-Do List

The To-Do List now displays a patient’s preferred name, helping clinicians and staff address patients the way they wish to be recognized. When a preferred name is saved in a patient’s profile, it automatically appears across all To-Do List views. If no preferred name is entered, the legal name continues to display. This update provides a more personalized and patient-centered experience throughout your daily workflow.

Secondary Warning When Submitting Primary Claims

We’ve introduced a new warning message that appears when submitting a primary claim if a client has an active secondary insurance policy that isn’t included on the date of service. The non-blocking warning allows Billers to confirm that secondary coverage for the date of service is configured correctly before submitting the primary claim. This update helps prevent downstream secondary billing issues and reduces the risk of claim delays.

Visual Alert for Telehealth Client Arrivals

A small red indicator now appears on your browser tab’s favicon when a client joins your Telehealth waiting room. This subtle visual alert makes it easier to spot new arrivals, even if your sound is off or you’re working in another tab.
