The latest update for TherapyNotes improves on many aspects of billing, almost all in anticipation of the upcoming EDI features.

  • We re-organized the billing actions menu on the Patient Billing tab and Billing page — Please review carefully, some things have moved!
  • "Show Claims to Submit" renamed "Mark Manually Submitted Claims" to make this feature more clear
  • Better support for 9-digit Zip Codes (required for EDI in some addresses)
  • Added the ability to select the preferred insurance payment method for in-network and out-of-network billing and for each insurance provider — This is mostly for EDI.
  • Improvements to the display of billing reports.
  • Billing page search now defaults to "All Items" instead of "Open Items" and includes new filters for "All Insurance", "Payments Only", and "Documented Appointments" (appointments for which a note was completed).
  • Future appointments no longer displayed as "Pending" submission for insurance
  • Automatically assume patient's preferred phone number if they have only one number
  • Updated status of billable items to better describe whether these items were submitted with no amount due (for example if there was a deductible) or if the item was rejected
  • "Select All" and "Select Pending" options when creating a CMS form will not select any items with missing information
  • Plus a handful of bug fixes and improvements
