Send Paper Claims to Any Insurance Provider

We now offer a feature that enables you to electronically submit claims for any insurance provider that accepts paper claims. If we can not send claims electronically to a payer, you can use this feature, and the clearinghouse will automatically print and mail the claim for you. The price for this feature is 49 cents per claim. To use this feature add the address to the insurance provider’s settings, and change the billing method to TherapyNotes EDI.

Smarter Display of Patient Initials

If you are set to show only patient initials, TherapyNotes will use the first 2 letters of the first and last name. For example John Smith will appear as JoSm. This will look unusual at first but it will make it possible to distinguish between patients with the same initials. This same format will be used when syncing your calendar to your smart phone. Additionally, the calendar will be smarter about abbreviating names in calendar views when space is limited.

Completed Objectives on Progress Notes

"Completed" was added as a status selection when indicating the progress of an objective in progress notes. If selected, a to do item will automatically be created suggesting an updated treatment plan.

Improved Scalability and Fault Tolerance

We have installed a new system for taking care of various back end web infrastructure such as caching. What this means to you is a more reliable login system. If you set TherapyNotes to require you to enter your password after 75 minutes, it will now more reliably last until 75 minutes of inactivity before making you retype your password. In addition this new system will allow for multiple simultaneous web servers to run together (called a "web farm"), so that we can much more easily scale up and add more servers as needed. That also improves fault tolerance because it would not matter if any one web server failed.

Credit Card Processing Improvements

A number of change were made to improve the credit card setup process. if you have credit card processing enabled, you will now see a "Month End Billing" form on the Patient Credit Cards settings page that you should complete and send back to us. This will make sure that you get charged monthly for the minor credit card fees instead of on a daily basis, which is a nuisance when reconciling your bank statement.

Other minor improvements were made and a few bugs were fixed including a CMS printing issue, a note printing issue, a referring provider on claims issue, and a secondary claims issue with Medicare. With this update we also retired the ability to generate the old CMS form.
