By TherapyNotes, LLC on February 6, 2017
Billing
Updated Claim Adjustment Codes: The list of claim adjustment reason codes, which are used to describe the reason for an adjustment on an ERA, has been updated according to the most recent changes from 2016. This will provide more clarity when viewing adjustments in ERAs.
Search Billing Transactions Text Updates: Several of the filter options in Search Billing Transactions have been updated to be clearer. In the Type dropdown, "Refund" has been changed to "Patient Refund." In the Payer dropdown, "Direct Payment" has been changed to "Direct from Patient," and instances of "Insurance" have been changed to "Payer."
ERA Updates: The ERA Viewer has been tweaked to facilitate entering insurance payments manually, by making the most applicable information bold.
Patients and Notes
Patient Nickname on Reminders: Email appointment reminders will now address patients by their nickname, instead of their full name, if the option is selected in Patient Appointment Reminder settings and their nickname is on file.
Presenting Problem Expanded: The Presenting Problem field on Intake Notes now supports up to 4,000 characters, up from 2,000.
Improved Draft Treatment Plan Behavior: If you have a draft Treatment Plan and click a To-Do list item to update a Treatment Plan, you will be taken to your existing draft. Previously, clicking on the To-Do list item would create a new Treatment Plan.
Coming Soon
A major upgrade to our ERA Payment Poster is pending for an upcoming release, which better utilizes information regarding patient copays, and better communicates adjustments.
A significant portion of our resources over the past few months have been dedicated to overhauling the Patients tabs to drastically improve usability and performance. Significant changes will be made to the organization and behavior of the Patients tabs. This is prepared for a release in the near future, and we will provide information as necessary to prepare our customers for these changes.
