What's New 4.61: Filter ERAs by Patient, HealthConnex Support, and More

By TherapyNotes, LLC on September 11, 2020

With the new Payment Authorization Form to authorize credit cards on the portal, telehealth enhancements, portal improvements, and much more, TherapyNotes™ 4.60 was a massive release. So, why just a couple of weeks later are we releasing 4.61? Although we usually release a new version of TherapyNotes™ every four weeks, we decided to expedite TherapyNotes™ 4.61 to bring the following improvements to our users even sooner.

Billing

  • ERA claim advice can now be filtered to show only the data for a particular patient. This filtered view can also be printed, which is useful if you are submitting secondary claims on paper and require the ERA from the primary payer.
  • Electronic claims submitted with a Non-Person (Type 2) Billing Setting Override now include the taxonomy code. Claims to payer ID 03036 (Blue Benefit Administrators of MA, CBA Blue, and Employee Benefits Plan Administration, Inc) have recently been rejected without this taxonomy code. This change should prevent these rejections. If you recently received rejections from these payers, you may wish to resubmit the claims.

Portal

  • The notification email a patient receives when you share documents with them through the portal will now show the patient’s preferred name on file if selected in your practice's Client Portal settings. This is consistent with appointment reminder emails.
  • We've updated the process of declining a patient's appointment request so that your next steps are more clear.

Scheduling

  • In the Day view of the calendar, the yellow line that shows the current time is now based on the practice’s time zone rather than the web browser’s local time zone.
  • When using browser zooming, the calendar layout no longer breaks at certain zoom levels.

NC HealthConnex HIE

North Carolina requires that all providers who bill services to any state funded insurance plan, such as Medicaid or state employee plans from BCBS, submit data on encounters to HealthConnex, the North Carolina Health Information Exchange (HIE). After you enroll in this program with the state and receive your HealthConnex organization ID, visit the HIE tab for applicable payers to enable data submission to HealthConnex through TherapyNotes™. Once enabled, all applicable data is automatically submitted to HealthConnex as you sign relevant notes. You can also enable or disable this per patient on the patient's Billing Settings tab, if desired.
