What's New 4.71: New Clinician License Expiration Field and More!

By TherapyNotes, LLC on September 1, 2021

TherapyNotes™ 4.71 includes numerous improvements to make your TherapyNotes™ experience even better. Here are the key changes:

Staff and User Access

  • Expiration dates can now be set for staff member licenses. When a License Number is entered on the Staff User Info tab, a new Expiration Date field is now displayed. The expiration dates are available as a column on the staff list, and a warning will be displayed for expired licenses or licenses set to expire within 90 days.
  • The “Clinician Access to Unassigned Patients” Security setting has been improved for Supervisors. For practices that choose to “Hide unassigned patients from Clinicians and Interns”, Supervisors will now only be able to see patients assigned to them and patients assigned to their supervisees.

Notes and Portal Forms

  • Document headers have been standardized across all notes and portal forms with an improved design that emphasizes the data instead of the field names. This includes viewing, printing, and downloading notes and portal forms.

User Interface Improvements

  • When scheduling or editing an appointment, you can now click anywhere on the Patient, Clinician, or Location fields to edit the selection rather than needing to remove the selection first.
  • We've introduced a cleaner, more accessible look and feel for dropdown lists throughout TherapyNotes™ and TherapyPortal™, such as while selecting a Patient when creating an appointment.

Appointment Reminders

  • Emailed patient appointment reminders will no longer include the practice address in the footer of the email. The practice location will only be displayed in the email body for in-person sessions. This should reduce confusion for telehealth sessions.

Billing

  • The Submit Electronic Claims page no longer loads results automatically when a user navigates to the page. Instead, clicking a Search button will display claims based on the selected filters. This will allow the page to load much more quickly and give you the opportunity to adjust filters before the data loads.
  • The Mark Externally Submitted Items page now defaults to showing the last 30 days of items instead of 1 year. This will allow the page to load much more quickly.
  • Real Time Eligibility can now be verified for coverage dates up to one year in the past.
  • If you submit claims for Healthy Blue of NC, Amerihealth Caritas, and Carolina Complete, encounter data will now be sent to the North Carolina Health Information Exchange, HealthConnex.
