"Bill as Supervisor" Now a Per Payer Setting

Instead of selecting a rate schedule for a clinician to use with a payer, a "Bill as Supervisor" option is now available. Therefore, you can disable "bill as supervisor" as a user setting and enable it only for specific payers so that only some claims will be billed as the supervisor. You can also adjust the supervision level on individual notes if you need to set supervision based on other criteria besides the payer.

To-Do List Improvements

In our last update a number of great new To-Do List features were added including the ability for front desk staff to see appropriate to-do items such as collecting paperwork from patients. You asked for more control over who would see certain items and we have added new options based on your feedback:

  • If you are both a clinician and a scheduler or biller, the updated To-Do List Settings page now offers an option to show only your own patients' administrative tasks instead of seeing scheduling and billing tasks for all patients. This setting is automatically available to any user for which this applies.
  • Practice administrators can now set whether schedulers or billers should be asked to complete certain administrative tasks, such as collecting patient paperwork, from the To-Do List Settings page.
  • The default To-Do List sort order is now much more sensible, generally putting notes to do above the administrative tasks.
  • The recently added To-Do List item reminding you that a patient is about to turn 18, or recently turned 18, can now also be seen by schedulers and billers so they are reminded to take steps to get updated paperwork.

Full ICD-10 Support

Notes with a date of service starting October 1st will assume an ICD-10 code in the diagnosis code search. ICD-10 codes can be entered into notes now and are now supported on claims if your payers will accept them early.

TherapyPortal Appointment Alerts by Email

Users can now optionally be sent email alerts when appointment requests are made from the portal. Clinicians can receive alerts about requests from their own patients, and schedulers can receive alerts about all requests made for the practice. Visit the Work Schedule tab on the Staff page to enable email notifications.

Additional Minor Updates

  • When you click on a dollar amount in the Revenue Report, the dialog "Payments Leading to this Revenue" appears. The patient column now includes the patient name for insurance payments. It was previously blank.
  • American Sign Language was added as a language option.
  • When downloading multiple notes for a patient they will be in chronological order instead of reverse chronological order.
  • Irritable and Grandiose were added as suggested options for the Mood pull-down on intake and progress notes.
